FAQs
Question:
I have a motorcycle on which I need to protect the oil lines that go to the oil cooler. They pass very near the headers / down pipes and I need something that will protect the oil lines if they ever by chance come loose. The lines are approx 17mm OD and whatever protects them needs to be fairly flexible.
Answer:
This is a perfect application for extreme heat sleeve and we recommend 15mm OD as there is some degree of expansion with the sleeving as you can see in the brochure page.
Question:
We manufacture specialist tracked vehicles and I am looking for a product to protect aircon hoses from heat from exhaust system on turbo diesel. Hose is 20mm diameter and approx 60mm from a flexible belows on a Deutz TCD2.9 engine. Which product would you recommend on a flexible hose, Speed shield or Extreme heat sleeve or other?
Answer:
Both products are for this application and both good quality. If you can't disconnect the hose then your only option is Speedshield as this is a 'wrap in situ' product. If it you can then it's really down to appearance. If there is a lot of vibration or any mechanical abrasion, I would opt for the extreme heat sleeve.
